180 Years of American Presidential Campaign Posters

A collection from the Library of Congress. Mother Jones has a slideshow.

  • Terrific collection. My favorite is the one for McKinley in 1896. Very curious is the Bobby Kennedy poster from '68, attempting to give him a "hip" look; he didn't need that. The "groovy" association diminished a very powerful and serious campaign. I never saw it back then; I suspect it didn't get much attention.
