Classical Music in the Train Station

Who says opera can't reach the non-elite world? The Zurich Opera will perform Verdi's classic La Traviatta in Zurich's main railway station. This reminded me of the Washington Post's culture experiment: They put Joshua Bell, one of the best solo violinists in the world, in a DC Metro station and had him play all day. They took footage of who stopped (not a lot) and who recognized him (even fewer). Different concept, but here's to more fine culture in our public transportation hubs (Bell video after the jump).
