Dystopian Cinema of a Different Sort

In celebration of the Cannes Film Festival's 60th Anniversary, a number of the world's greatest directors were asked to contribute short films. David Cronenberg's is called "At the Suicide of the Last Jew in the World in the Last Cinema in the World."

Other directors who produced shorts include Wong Kar-Wai, the Coen Brothers, Wim Wenders, Roman Polanski, Walter Salles, Jane Campion, and Atom Egoyan. The films were collected and marketed as To Each His Own Cinema.

  • I've read everything on Cronenberg I could find since I was a kid, and this is the only time I've ever seen/heard him comment on his Jewish roots.
