"Unoffical" Ad Far Sexier Than Official Ads

Advertising skeptic Copyranter is suspicious of unofficial viral ads for mainstream products, and for good reason: they're far more interesting to look at. Like this pornish Guiness ad, supposedly made by film students without the company's involvement. Sure, Guiness could demand YouTube take it down, just like so many videos using copyrighted material have been taken down. But then they wouldn't be getting all of this free publicity.

Discussion
  • Just another humdrum commercial to me, no more or less offensive than Viagra, car or prostate ads. Besides, it's a tough sell. Guinness in the U.S. is AWFUL. I've never had a decent pint on tap in the States--you really need to go to Ireland for that--and it's even worse in bottles.

  • Guinness sucks, I'd rather drink water than that mud. Tecate, Carta Blanca and even Bud are far preferable. No ad, viral or otherwise, will change my mind.
