Channeling the Manosphere

Feminism has sold women a bill of goods that has demonized a pillar of civilized society, and that is paying off with male abandonment.

When I clicked on a YouTube post titled “Why Men Over 60 Should Stay Single,” a universe of issues surrounding what used to be called the “battle of the sexes” came into stark relief. There’s apparently an epidemic-proportioned number of men choosing to walk away from the drama, angst and legal exposure that comes with male/female relationships. The gist for men comes from two situational angles: either younger men warned away from generations of indoctrinated feminist women—often predisposed to devalue men, and brutally opportunistic when relationships go south—and older guys advised to consider relationship retirement for the sake of their finances and sanity.

For younger men, who may wish for a traditional marriage and children, a family court system inexorably stacked against them is cast as a merciless machine that’ll ruin their lives. For older men, who’ve likely been through a divorce or two and lost big in the bargain, the prescription is to hang up your companionship spurs and leave well enough alone.

In the realm of giving little-to-no quarter to women stands Men Need To Be Heard. Host Daniel Romand’s appraisal of the critical mass reached between the sexes focuses on the horror show many men experience when the honeymoon’s over and the distaff side gets down to the business of looking out for itself. Everything from a man’s Dodge Charger, to his split-level Frank Lloyd Wright home, to his beloved progeny will be grist for adjudication by a biased and insurmountable legal system directed and controlled by feminist attorneys and a like-minded judiciary. Decisions almost always come down in favor of women, who will almost always be believed when they accuse men of heinous acts that have left the woman no choice but seek dissolution. Romand’s channel has 102,000 subscribers.

Another channel that surfaced in my algorithm is Far From Eden,” hosted by a woman named Erin. On this faith-anchored Christian channel the warnings for men are just as dire, but delivered with a softening measure of feminine understanding, even love. In dulcet tones Erin decries what feminism has wrought, and presents the devaluation of men as a societal collapse that threatens civilization. Far From Eden has just under 70,000 subscribers.

A third channel, Rich Cooper Unplugged, offers incisive analysis about the depressing situation that exists in the male-female marketplace, and information about how to avoid it. Cooper’s boldly stated and often ugly truths educate men about the risks, and also stand as an advisory. If you publish a rant on TikTok or any other internet channel, it’s in the public domain. Though the content and thrust of the three aforementioned hosts differs, all use such posts to flesh out their observations and assertions. Glimpses into the lives of lonely, angry, delusional, and often pitiable women can be embarrassing and hard to watch. Cooper’s channel has just under 60,000 subscribers.

The overarching theme is that feminism has sold women a bill of goods that has effectively demonized an integral pillar of civilized society, and that demonization is paying off in a growing phenomenon of male abandonment. Men are becoming more knowledgeable about the potentially soul-crushing pitfalls of dating and marriage, and refusing to participate.

Discussion
  • When Time magazine ran an article touting some trend, that usually meant the trend was already on the way out. That could be what's happening with this piece too. I wrote a blog review of a book titled "Men on Strike" that made the same points, in 2013. https://quicksilber.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-men-on-strike.html Recent data, though, suggests the "sex recession" among young people is ending, especially among people in relationships. https://www.noahpinion.blog/i/182597020/fewer-dating-apps-more-sex
