Have we been listening to Robert Johnson at the wrong speed?

Over the past few years a debate has been raging over the RPM speed of Robert Johnson's original recordings. Should we, as Robert Gibbens and others have suggested, actually be "slowing the recordings to 80 percent of the speed at which they normally play?" Should Johnson "actually sound much more like his great mentor, Son House?"

The Guardian has more. And WNYC tackled the issue back in June. Below, "From Four Till Late" at 85% speed.
