BEA used to be more of a place for publishers to push their forthcoming Fall titles, but, like in every industry, the internet has reoriented the way books are bought, sold, and stored. Book Expo America: Not Just for Books Anymore
Last weekend was Book Expo America 2008, a giant publishing industry festival where writers, publishers, and whoever else get together to hawk new titles. It seems like either an extremely nerdy version of Burning Man, or an elementary school book fair on steroids. Here, a website interviews the maker of a "book digitizer."
