Phillip Glass Might Be The Future Of Music

No, that doesn't mean we'll only listen to minamilist eletronic composition in 2020. But by opening up his entire catalogue of music to a special IBM project, Glass may just be leading us away from the alphabetized playlist method of organizing our music. The Glass Engine, first created in 1999 and revised last year, allows users to move through all of Glass's works on a low to high sliding scale for values like "sorrow," "joy," and "intensity."

For the record, the values for subjective terms like "sorrow" and "joy" were determined by longtime Glass producer Kurt Munkacsi.
