Bruce “Loose” Calderwood: People that walk in open-minded have the best time.

Pat Monahan: I’m looking forward to it.

Calderwood: That’s what you gotta do.

Monahan: Spotify actually sent me a really nice trophy for that. [laughs]

Calderwood: Five years too late.

Monahan: And then, years later, it was the Gorge outside of Seattle.

Calderwood: Yeah. I grew up with late beatnik parents, who were influenced by the late ’50s scene in San Francisco.

Monahan: Now, you don’t need any of that, but you can’t get beverages by looking at them and downloading them.

Calderwood: That’s a hard one to call. It gets really ridiculous.

Monahan: It was a really tough time.

Calderwood: The time is now and that’s what you fuckin’ do, is what you enjoy.

Monahan: They turned it into a track, and then I wrote about this dream where I saw a girl in a yellow dress, chased her through my dream, and it felt like I would never find her.

Calderwood: They guaranteed me a 50 percent reduction of pain, and I’m sure I’ve gotten at least 85 percent.

Monahan: It still inspires people to dance, laugh, have fun, and make memories.

Calderwood: Maybe people will be less insulted.
