Who knew they had it in them?

Slate is, generally, a stolid publication for the slightly left-of-center, over-35 crowd—with some good culture criticism and a good bullpen of crotchety, smooth and libertarian critics of politics and media. Their forays into online video are, um, highlighted by such hot-to-trot fodder as "Dear Prudence" clips. But, lo and behold, Slate gets (unfortunately for David Denby) snarky.
