  • I support this. The downfall of American journalism has little to do with poor content and a lot more to do with a dumber, distracted populace. Also, Le Monde totally has boobies in it. Let's LEARN from the French - at least in that one area.

  • It's a last ditch and largely symbolic gesture. Included in what you call a "dumber, distracted populace" is the media. People haven't become "dumber," they've just migrated to a new technology that has overwhelmed the print publication industry. And I'd say that it was the arrogance of huge media companies, enjoying double digit profit margins for so many years, that led to the downfall.
