Sydney Joe Qualls, also listed as Sidney Joe Quails on various soul compilations, was a Chicago transplant originally from Arkansas. In 1974, he released "How Can You Say Goodbye" on the Dakar label. In additional to his spot-on Al Green vocal impersonation, the swooping strings and horns make the song easy to mistake as a long-lost cut from I'm Still In Love With You.
